“Anger is one
of the sinews of the soul”. Thomas Fuller
Within this section: Facts, Group & Individual Programmes; Who will benefit
Current day living, with the pressures of modern day life put enormous stress on families, relationships, individuals and organisations. The result is we live more stressful lives and increasingly witness and experience greater levels of anger, frustration, irritability and stress. These factors impact on the quality of

our performance and pleasure in life; and can reach proportions that have a harmful impact on our health, on our relationships with ourselves and others: and can hinder our self-motivation and personal growth. Not knowing how to stop or manage our anger, causes it to intensify and spread to anything that gets in the way. Anger is a response to a perceived threat; it is a natural response and is necessary for our survival. Anger itself is not the problem; the problem for most people is the inappropriate expression of their anger and the damage this causes in their own lives and to the people whose lives they touch.
When our anger stops being a healthy response, it can manifest itself in physical, mental and verbal assaults, relationship break-ups and bullying, frequent irritability and social withdrawal. It makes sufferers exhausted, prone to hypertension, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, ulceration, impotency, loss of libido and an increased risk of chronic minor illnesses.

Usually we know ourselves when we have a problem with anger. We are often aware of those around us that are suffering from or being subjected to excessive anger. Steppingstones programmes will provide the opportunity to understand how anger plays a part in your life. They will teach healthy ways control, express and manage anger, empowering you to transform the quality of your life and interactions with others.
